🚜 OLS1002 Caterpillar FLS/FL2 Import/Export for WinOLS
The plugin OLS1002 extends the functions of WinOLS to work with calibration files Caterpillar FLS and FL2.
This option allows you to import compatible files, access their data areas within WinOLS, modify the calibration, and re-export certain projects in their original format.
It is especially suitable for reprogramming professionals, industrial machinery, heavy vehicles, public works machinery, and specialists working with Caterpillar control units.

⚙️ Workflow with OLS1002
1️⃣ Import the FLS or FL2 file using OLS1002.
2️⃣ The plugin analyses the structure and creates the WinOLS project.
3️⃣ Check the memory areas and the detected information.
4️⃣ Locate and modify the necessary maps.
5️⃣ Verify the internal checksums of the control unit.
6️⃣ Save the modifications as a new version.
7️⃣ Export the project in the format allowed by the plugin.
8️⃣ Check the resulting file before attempting to program it.

📤 Export of FLS files
OLS1002 allows re-exporting FLS files when the project was created by importing the original file with this same plugin.
To correctly preserve the structure of the format, the project must not be created from a BIN file extracted independently.
The export must be carried out from the project linked to the originally imported FLS file.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
⚠️ Important limitations of FL2 files
FL2 files can be imported into WinOLS, but their export has important limitations:
❌ EVC cannot correct the cryptographic checksum of the FL2 format.
❌ The exported FL2 file cannot be programmed with the original tool.
❌ There are variants of FL2 files that currently cannot be exported.
❌ A 100% coverage of all format variants is not guaranteed.
For this reason, FL2 export should be considered a limited function and should not be understood as a guarantee that the file can be reprogrammed in the ECU.

🧮 Internal checksums of the ECU
OLS1002 is responsible for interpreting the FLS and FL2 formats, but this does not necessarily mean that it includes all the internal checksum modules of Caterpillar control units.
Depending on the ECU and the modified file, it may be necessary to separately acquire the corresponding checksum module.
Before exporting or programming any file, always check:

🔹 That the modified maps correspond to the calibration.
🔹 That the internal checksums have been detected.
🔹 That the exported format is compatible with the programming tool.
